Founded and created by Chris Lawrenson in 2008, out of a curious interest in all things industrial, Coda quickly became specialists in working with industrial clients.
Winning a project with Servomex, a global gas analysis solutions company and part of Spectris, cemented what was to become the start of a long-standing relationship and a base from which Coda could develop an expertise in all types of industrial technologies. Since then, Coda has been fortunate enough to work in the worlds of measurement, analysis, sensing, robotics, heat detection, vibration and predictive monitoring.
The Coda team has grown significantly since 2021, with several of the original members still part of the current team today. Located in Poole, Dorset on the UK’s South Coast, Coda now operates from their UK base but delivers work across the world with clients based in France, Germany, the UK and the USA.
In 2023, Chris decided to consider Coda’s future ownership, with a desire for the agency to continue under leadership that would retain the essence of the brand. A leadership transition to current CEO Jen Swain took place in early 2024, and a full transition and sale of the agency to an Employee Owned Trust took place in December 2024.
In 2025, Coda is a 40-strong industrial specialist marketing communications agency supporting some of the best-known industrial brands in the world. The agency is proudly the largest Employee Owned marketing communications agency in Dorset, and – following great performance in 2024 – one of the UK’s fastest growing industrial B2B agencies.
